Reflex Testing
When a Total Protein is ordered with and Albumin an AGR will be calculated at no charge.
Limitations
Hemoglobin of 500 mg/dL [0.31 mmol/L (monomer)] increases the TP result by 0.5 g/dL [5.0 g/L] at a total protein concentration of 6.5 g/dL [65 g/L].
Plasma expanders such as dextran are reported to depress TP results.
Bilirubin of 20 mg/dL [342 µmol/L] decreases the TP result by 0.6 g/dL [6.0 g/L] at a total protein concentration of 6.1 g/dL [61 g/L].
