Storage Requirements

  • Serum: Refrigerate specimen. If delivery to lab will be delayed, separate and freeze serum.
  • CSF: Deliver to laboratory as soon as possible; DO NOT REFRIGERATE.

 

Transportation Needs

Deliver specimen to laboratory within 1 hour of collection if unspun. If not possible see "storage Requirements".

Manufacturer states a sensitivity and specificity of 100% compared to another latex agglutination test

Contraindications:

Hydralazine and procainamide may induce ANA
