An MIBH Type and Crossmatch (RCP) may be converted to a Cardiac Crossmatch by ordering CAS as an AOT (Add On Test) in Meditech or on Lab Req#3 within 3 days from date of specimen collection.in the LIS. *An additional (1) 6ml Pink Top tube must be collected, hand labeled and sent to the Blood Bank. *See also Detailed Product Component Information and Meditech Order Entry (OE) Procedure.

 

If atypical antibodies are detected:

Additional specimen may be requested by the Blood Bank in order to complete testing.

Additional time may be needed in order to provide compatible blood products.
