Additional Information

1. Verify patient has documented HIV-1 infection and virl load ≥ 500 copies/mL plasma before ordering the test

2. Collect blood in 3 PPT or 3 lavender-top (EDTA) tubes.

3. Centrifuge within 6 hours of collection. Spin sample at 1,000 to 1,200g for 10 to 15 minutes. (DO NOT leave specimens in centrifuge after spinning)

4. Transfer plasma into plastic screw-cap tube, not "pop-top" or "snap-cap".

5. Freeze sample immediately at -20˚C (DO NOT ALLOW SPECIMEN TO THAW) Specimen must be fully frozen before given to courier.

6. Contact Monogram Client Services at 1-800-777-0177 to arrange pickup.
