How to Prepare a sample for Trofile Co-Receptor Tropism Assay:

1. Verify viral load ≥ 1,000 copies/mL before ordering the test

2. Collect blood in 2 PPT or 2 lavender-top (EDTA) tubes. Draw enough blood to provide at LEAST 3 mL of plasma.

3. Centrifuge within 6 hours of collection. Spin sample at 1,000 to 1,200g for 10 to 15 minutes. (DO NOT leave specimens in centrifuge after spinning)

4. If using lavender-top EDTA tube, pour of plasma into plastic screw-cap tube.

5. Freeze sample immediately at -20˚C (DO NOT ALLOW SPECIMEN TO THAW) Specimen must be fully frozen before given to courier.
