Causes for Rejection
Mislabeled or unlabeled specimen
Specimen collected with unacceptable preservative
> 12hrs Room temperature
> 24hrs Refrigerated
Limitations
Hemolysis will falsely elevate values. Calcium > 40 mg/dL will cause slight interference
