Additional Information

During ketosis, Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) levels may increase more than levels of acetone and acetoacetate, clearly indicating the patient’s trend in metabolic status. BHB is the main ketone body produced during ketosis. BHB demonstrates excellent stability, making it an excellent indicator of clinically relevant ketosis and ketoacidosis.  This test is for medical use only.
