For high-risk infants, collect blood at 8-12 weeks (in addition to the collections within 48 hours of birth, 2 weeks, 4-6 weeks, and 4-6 months of age).

Transportation Needs

Ship specimens via UPS for next day delivery. Specimens will only be received by the performing lab Monday to Friday. Specimens are not received on Saturdays. If plasma specimens must be stored prior to shipping, store in the freezer.

Specimens must be sent out before noon on a Thursday to ensure delivery by Friday.

Less than 50% draw for Vacutainer tubes
