Reference Values
Analyte | Units | Reference Range |
Oxyhemoglobin | % | 60 - 85 |
Oxygen Content | ml/dl | 10 - 18 |
Includes
Spectrophotometrically measured Oxyhemoglobin (O2Hb) expressed as a fraction of the total hemoglobin.
O2content is included.
Limitations
Errors can occur due to metabolic changes if there is a delay in the measurement of the sample.
Severely abnormal plasma osmolarities or abnormal levels of proteins or lipids can potentially interfere with sample analysis.
As with all spectrophotometric methods, there are limitations regarding the optical determination of hemoglobin derivatives. In general, any substance, which in addition the five hemoglobin derivatives to be determined, causes significant absorption or light scattering of the sample, may have a negative impact on the result
